Vice President

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  • Participates and communicates and promotes the Company's mission and objectives with regard to revenue, profitability, and growth throughout the Company.

  • Develops a strategic plan; implements specific action plans for promoting sales, generating revenues, improving services, and reducing costs; engages the management team in achieving stated goals within designated time periods.

  • Mentors the management team and monitors the success of individual team members, including personnel development and staff morale.

  • Organization chart for succession purposes

  • Identification and attainment of goals for education, experience, training and certifications.

  • Oversees all Company operations to insure production efficiency, quality products and services, and cost-effective management of resources.

  • In collaboration with the management team, identifies specific markets and creates strategies to achieve market-specific objectives (sales level, market penetration, pricing levels + or -, new growth markets).

  • Reviews monthly activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives; revises objectives or adjusts plans in accordance with the current business climate.

  • Assists with planning, developing and implementing strategies to further the mission of the Corporation.

  • Approves all Company-specific operational procedures, policies, and standards.

  • Exhibits professional behavior, appropriate to the position, as representative of the company by:

  • Exhibiting a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace,

  • Developing and maintaining positive community relations through personal and active involvement.

  • Providing leadership for the department's operations

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge:

Math: Ability to comprehend business financials, produce budgets,

calculate and analyze cost figures, strategize, and generate

estimates for bidding jobs, etc.

Reading: Able to read and comprehend complex business, technical and

legal documents.

Blueprint reading helpful.

Computer: Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-

house systems.

Licenses: Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or business, OR

Experience: 10 years management experience in the road construction and/or

asphalt industry with broad knowledge of all aspects of business operations.
