Unistrut Sales Specialist

Principal Duties:

  • Actively promotes sales of all Unistrut Hawaii products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Reviews project plans and bid documents through industry sources for potential opportunities for products and services Unistrut Hawaii provides. Consults with Unistrut Manager to proceed with relevant research.
  • Provides vendors with contract documents, material lists and other pertinent information needed to execute bid proposals and material delivery in a timely manner.
  • Identify bidders lists on projects the department is bidding. Distribute quotes from Estimator to identified bidders. Maintain a project spreadsheet updating status on pending quotes and bid proposals. Follow-up on bid results and potential awards to Unistrut Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Supports all outside sales operations through bid proposals and follow-up, order tracking, and sales order processing which may include, but is not limited to, handling order entries and purchase order requisitions. Assist inside sales operations on quotes/orders beyond scope of inside sales staff.
  • Develops and maintain contacts lists for design professionals, customers and prospects for the department. Maintains a regular communication schedule to build and sustain business relationships via phone, email, and direct mail.
  • Assists on install project setup by generating Job Data Sheets and packaging with quotes and award documentation to be forwarded to the Contracts Department.
  • Provides support and information to current, new and prospective customers on products, installation services, price quotes, and trends to secure orders and develop future business opportunities.

Principal Requirements:

  • Ability to work under time constraints. Handle multiple demands through prioritization and planning skills in a fast-paced environment. Possess interpersonal skills to maintain poise and rapport in difficult situations with customers, vendors, department staff, and company staff.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability with business communication and protocols to include person-to-person, teleconference, voice, and written forms with management, co-workers, customers, and vendors
  • Familiar with basic math skills to create spreadsheets calculating cost/sell/profit ratios.
  • Familiar with basic geometry to calculate measurements for material takeoffs.
  • Able to comprehend project documents and industry/manufacturer's technical data and standards
  • Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
  • Associates/Bachelor's Degree in business related studies or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in the business-to-business distribution and/or construction services to the Construction and Building Management Industries preferred.
  • Minimum 2-years experience in lieu of Associates degree.
  • Minimum 5-years experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
