POSITION TITLE: Kauai Operations Supervisor
COMPANY: G P Roadway Solutions
DEPARTMENT: Rentals, Kauai
REPORTS TO: Neighbor Island Branch Manager
STATUS: Exempt, Non-Union

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Rentals Division of G P Roadway Solutions on the Island of Kauai.


1. Oversees the sales, administration, and bargaining operation staff; includes disciplining, monitoring job performance, ensuring competency levels, recommends appropriate training, and conducts performance appraisals as required.
2. Ensures that rental services are rendered as ordered or rescheduled as necessary, that the crew driver thoroughly completes the rental order form after jobs are completed, and that all order forms are submitted in a timely manner for invoicing.
3. Uses delivery tags, GPS to monitor crews for delivery of timely, accurate and quality services.
4. Takes walk-in, phone, emailed orders for sales and rentals, as well as emailed job orders from other internal departments.
5. Assists with product promotion/sales and maintains an appropriate level and visually appealing display of sales items in the showroom and may on occasion make outside sales calls.
6. Monitors and replenishes rental and sales stock and supplies on a consistent basis.
7. Facilitates repair and maintenance of the Kauai vehicles, rental equipment, and Company- owned tools with the Fleet Maintenance division.
8. Conducts regular safety and environmental inspections of facilities and job sites.
9. Receives customer complaints, investigates issues and resolves routine problems. Consults with Neighbor Island Branch Manager on problematic customers to ensure timely resolution of issues and to maintain positive customer relations. Conducts follow-up calls with customers to verify service quality.
10. Investigates and reports employee and customer accidents, takes appropriate action in the event of injury and ensures that all appropriate documentation is submitted to the Safety Department in a timely manner.
11. Collects timecards and billing documents and submits all to Payroll/Administration in a timely manner for processing.
12. Assists the AR Specialist with documentation and data gathering for collections and/or assists with collections on select jobs.
13. Assists with facilitating document distribution to the GPRS Construction Division.
14. Primary Point of contact for all company-wide business transactions (i.e., facility security, maintenance, and repair)
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
16. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
17. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.


PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Degree in sales, marketing, business management, construction, civil engineering, general studies preferred. May substitute education with years of experience.
2. Supervisory experience and/or (1) year experience in a similar operation, such as equipment rental operation, sales/retail environment, civil construction, government agency related to road work and/or safety. Familiarity with traffic control and general industry safety.
3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email. Adaptable to in-house software. Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner. 10 key by touch helpful.
4. Proficient in math and the ability to calculate on a consistent basis.
5. Must be able to read and understand business documents, read road maps and basic construction plan sheets.
6. Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable driver history record.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective internal and external communications as well as initiate/promote sales of products and services.
8. Able to work under pressure or in a deadline driven environment; the use of judgment or discretion; working with minimal (or considerable) supervision; the ability to follow instructions; quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment; use of discretion and independent judgment; collaboration and cooperation with colleagues. Able to multi-task.
9. Must be available after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to facilitate business duties as they arise.
10. Ability to work on various construction jobsites including live traffic conditions.
11. Able to lift 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders.
12. Ability to pass a physical exam to meet Dept. of Transportation driver requirements.
