Human Resources Assistant

Position Overview:
This position supports the Human Resources department and its processes with employment related tasks.


Essential Duties:
• Maintains Human Resources files in accordance with department procedures.
• Assists with processing a variety of employment related forms and tasks for new and existing employees.
• Assists with data entry and maintenance of automated HR system.
• Interacts with applicants to coordinate pre-employment requirements and with current staff to ensure a smooth flow of human resources functions.
• Assists the Driver Administrator with establishing and maintaining driver qualification (DQ) information for driver files and company fleet files.
• Assists the Receptionist with reception duties for the Kapolei office: Greets visitors, answer incoming calls, transfers, takes messages. Process outgoing mail. Sorts and distribute incoming mail, faxes. Orders supplies for Kapolei office, Makakilo Quarry, Shop, and AC Plants. Make photocopies.


Other Duties: (if any)
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
• Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.


Working Conditions:
Work Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm

• Computer


Communication Demands:
• Internal Contacts Employees at all levels of the organization.
• External Contacts Job applicants, vendors.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Education: Some college, Human Resources major preferred.
Experience: General office experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn inhouse systems; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
Calculator: 10 key helpful.
Math: Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
Reading: Ability to read and interpret legal documents, government regulations.
Writing: Ability to produce organized, clear, grammatically correct written communications.
Blueprint Reading: Not required.
Licenses: Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
Other: Excellent interpersonal/organizational/documentation skills.
Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Detail oriented.
