Financial Analyst

POSITION TITLE: Financial Analyst
COMPANY: Grace Pacific LLC.
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance & Strategic Planning

FLSA: Exempt

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
2. Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, including variance analysis in support of month-end and quarter-end close procedures
3. Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
4. Assist with reporting on financial performance and recommendations for regular leadership reviews
5. Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
6. Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards, as well as increasing productivity by assisting with the development of automated reporting/forecasting tools
7. Sort/Mine large sets of data from multiple sources to provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
8. Review and analyze vendor contracts or leases
9. Build and maintain budget and forecast templates for use by business leaders, as well as working with business leaders to evaluate assumptions based on historical performance
10. Aid in the capital budgeting and expenditure planning process
11. Perform other work-related duties and tasks as assigned by management

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field is required or equivalent experience.
2. 1-3 years of experience in accounting/finance and/or related work experience; preferably in Construction. This position requires a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and must have strong analytical and data gathering skills.
3. Accounting software experience is required, Viewpoint Vista preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions is required. Microsoft SQL, Crystal Reports, and/or Spreadsheet Server preferred. 10 key by touch.
4. Excellent math skills to review and analyze financial data and perform calculations related to daily tasks.
5. Able to read and understand financial forms and technical documents.
6. Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Strong quantitative and analytical competency with good business acumen. Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently.
