POSITION TITLE: Asphalt Plants Operations Assistant Manager
DEPARTMENT: Grace Pacific, LLC
LOCATION: O'ahu
REPORTS TO: HMA Plant Manager
STATUS: Exempt, Non-Union

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

1. Assist in monitoring daily plant operations at the efficiency level set forth by the HMA Plant Manager and coordinates operations with internal and external customers as well as supporting departments (such as but not limited to quality control [QC], equipment, safety, environmental). Logistics and scheduling challenges require the candidate to be flexible with both interisland travel and day/night work.
2. Assisting in coaching and monitoring team members and various plant sites to comply with OSHA and safety regulations
3. Assist plant personnel with ordering parts or supplies needed with the plants predictive and preventive maintenance program.
4. Assist manager and plant personnel to trouble shoot downtime and eliminate or minimize the causes in the future by scheduling preventive maintenance procedures
5. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
6. Safely and properly assist in supervising and coordinating daily activities of workers
7. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
8. Able to perform critical thinking and questioning to problem solve and assist plant to troubleshoot situations/problems (material, quality, equipment, operations/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

1. High School Diploma Acquired
2. Minimum 5 years construction management experience preferred
3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
4. Knowledge in mechanical and troubleshooting skills helpful
5. Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
6. Must have a good understanding of basic math and fractions to take accurate measurements, calculate angles, convert volumetrics to allow for ordering materials and parts.
7. Excellent interpersonal/organizational/documentation skills.
8. Able to work independently and meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
9. Ability to regularly lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.
