PRINCIPAL DUTIES

Reviews project plans and bid documents as assigned by Unistrut staff and documents pertinent plan sheets and specification sections to pass to Estimator or Unistrut Sales Specialist for further action. Consults with Unistrut Manager to proceed with relevant research.

Assists in providing vendors with contract documents, material lists and other pertinent information needed to execute bid proposals and material delivery in a timely manner. Forwards vendor quotes to Estimator.

Identify bidders lists on projects the department is bidding. Distribute quotes from Estimator to identified bidders. Maintain a project spreadsheet updating status on pending quotes and bid proposals.

Assists on install project setup by generating Job Data Sheets and packaging with quotes and award documentation to be forwarded to the Contracts Department.

Assists in customer service functions such as processing sales orders, credit memos, and other customer service functions as assigned.

Forwards inquiries to respective Unistrut staff according to their specialties.

Maintains department bid schedule calendar.

Assists in answering phone calls and distributing to appropriate parties.

Assists with inventory control including participation in the annual year-end inventory count.

Assists with collections as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.


PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

Needs to adapt well in face of workplace stressors such as competing priorities of reasonable or high significance.

Needs to be able to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Skills/Knowledge:

Math: Familiar with basic math skills to create spreadsheets calculating cost/sell/profit ratios. Familiar with basic geometry to calculate measurements for material takeoffs.

Reading: Able to comprehend project documents and industry/manufacturer's technical data and standards.

Computer: Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Work, and PowerPoint.

Education: Associates Degree in business related studies preferred.

Experience: Two years' experience in business-to-business distribution and/or construction services to the Construction and Building Management Industries preferred.
